news > We’re Hiring a Species Conservation Officer in Ireland

19th December 2023

NB Deadline reached and we are no longer accepting applications for this post.

VWT is seeking a suitable person to become its Species Conservation Officer in Ireland.

VWT has been a key player in research-led conservation of a range of threatened mammal species for more than 40 years. We develop and deliver evidence-based conservation interventions to support the recovery of mammal species.

We work closely with universities, co-funding and supervising PhD projects, and with partner NGOs, where synergies in our aims allow us to deliver over and above what we could achieve on our own.

Is this you?

We are looking for someone with the ability to inspire a cross-section of people including volunteers, land managers and community groups in a range of activities, including fieldwork, surveys and monitoring activities.

You will need to have experience and knowledge of wildlife conservation, practical fieldwork and monitoring experience, excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, along with experience of working with partners, landowners and other stakeholders.
